....for some reason I cannot turn off the "underline" on this... weird huh? But any ways..... Sometimes I get frustrated with my art work, and so I turn it upside down, this helps me see it more as blobs of color instead of a face/person. Sometimes I get so caught up in making it look like a person I forget to just paint color, depth etc, so if it is upsidedown I can see it in perespective a little better, I can see what is going on, and what I need to do without being distracted by noses, eyes and chins! lol!

So, this is after about idk 5 hours extra to what I had before...... I lightened the eyes bluer, but they looked kinda empty.... so....

so about 2 hours more......

added the chair.......

close-up. almost there!

  1. Wow! Adriana...I'm TOTALLY IMPRESSED!!! Like my grandson Kaden says, "How'd you DO THAT?" HA HA (it's so funny when I say that now to him, he says, "I just did!" ha ha...kids are the greatest, especially little 3 yr. olds! =)

So I'm wondering when you say you are doing a "commission" does that mean someone is paying you to do this? Is it someone you know? Wow...I wish I could afford you...I've always wanted my kids pictures painted, like an individual of each one when they were around 5 yrs. old...or even 8, when they were baptized. =) I've always wanted to learn to do it myself...but I'm not sure I'll ever have time to do it...maybe when I'm 80 yrs old! ha

So anyhow...I LOVE your blog template too!! Way to go!! You tenacious little girl! hee hee :)

Well, Aunt Lisa loves you dearly...I wish you were not so far away...I miss you all so much! I'm spending all my 'pennies' right now going to Australia to pick up Sammy in January...but maybe I can start saving some more 'pennies' to come see you all and stay a week! =) I'd love it!! I'll work on it..I'm pretty tenacious too when it comes to things I want! :)

    Love you...Happy Painting! (and Blogging!)

  2. Hey Aunt Lisa! Thanks! I'm glad to hear you like my work! Sorry it has taken me so long to read this comment of yours, but I normally don't get any comments so I just didn't even check for it! :P lol!

Yeah, I am painting by commission, which means that I am painting for someone, for a price. I charge pretty low actually, it's barely enough to cover cost, in the end I make about 3-4 dollars an hour, but I'm not painting for the money, I'm only charging because otherwise I would have to give up my painting until I can afford it! This helps me be able to afford painting!

Aunt Lisa, I am sure one day you'll have the time to paint, you would be good at it too! You're so creatively minded! I would love to paint your kids for you, I don't have time now, and probably not until the summer time of 2011.... and I would def give family a discounted price! I'm not really looking for commissions for a while, i think I'm gonna take a break after these guys.... lol!

Thanks for your compliments! I love you too! I hope you have a great time in Austrailia!

    Love anna
